An Elysium Black Diamond ring starts as millions of micro-diamonds. The diamonds are not black to begin with, as the dark coloration of the ring comes during the forming of the band. 

The diamonds are loaded into a ring mould as loose diamonds, and that mould is put into a giant press that adds over 1 million pounds of pressure at a temperature of over 2500 degrees Fahrenheit. The diamonds are fused together in the mould under the pressure and heat to form a solid Elysium Black Diamond Band. The ring is then finished up by hand, including the addition of any inlays.

Elysium Black Diamond rings are virtually scratch proof. As Elysium rings are made of 100% diamond, they are hypoallergenic, light weight, non-conductive, and will never fade, dull, change color, or scratch. Elysium diamond rings are simply the hardest, most scratch-resistant rings on the planet.

As Elysium rings are not metal, they can shatter. The rings have been tested to up to 900 pounds of vertical pressure before shattering. While rings like Tungsten will shatter when dropped, Elysium, with it's lighter-weight makeup, will not shatter as easily as a heavy-weighted ring like Tungsten. The ability to shatter under pressure also has advantages when it comes to Emergency situations, as Elysium Black Diamond bands can be shattered off with vice-grips or similar if needed.

If an Elysium Black Diamond ring shatters by any means, even in an emergency situation, the ring would be replaced as part of its Lifetime Warranty.
